My Name is Katharyn Victoria Vela
Did you know simple hellos make my day? I bet you didn't. I bet you don't know the life I've lived and am living hasn't exactly been a nice walk in the park either, but I think it's safe to say no one's life really is ever that simple and easy. We all have our own problems, situations, and battles we have to go and get through. Whether it's as small as being late to biology class or as serious as being diagnosed with cancer. It's still important, it still matters. I believe thats what lifes all about really, it's about teaching us something we'll be thankful for later down the line. Teaching us everything it can get through to us. The lessons we endure don't just happen out of random chance, in my opinon. I feel they happen at exactly the right moment we need them to. Whether or not you have the courage to admit that. Take for instance the lesson of being forgotton by someone you care about, it was during that time of such earth shattering rejection that I learned how vitally important it was to remember things. And not just the things you feel are essential , but remembering everything you possibly can. I don't know about everyone else in the world, but when I know I've lived my life to the absolute fullest and am ready to look back on it, I want to see some pretty incredible illustrations. Out of all the lessons I've learned so far, I've become most thankful for the ones that nearly threw me off the edge. It was during those god awful times, I finally realized how strong my heart is and how wise my mind can be. When you hit rock bottom, the only way you got left to go is back up. When I hear the word hero, I still get that same old image of Superman flying in to save the day. It would be pretty amazing if he really did exsist right? One horrified scream and bam! There he is, rescuing you from all your fears and terrors. But deep down we all know hes just some made up character in some made up world.
Nope, you're wrong, he is real. Maybe he isn't in the form we're all used to seeing him in, but hes there. All you have to do is look around you, because inside of every living human lives an even stronger hero. Each and everyone of us have something of Superman quality. it may be his striking good looks, brain, wisdom or strength. We all have at least one thing he has, some we're lucky enough to be blessed with even more. That's not really the point though. The real proof of his exsistence is that we're all fighting for something, just like him. We all have at least one thing in this world that gets us motivated to get out of bed every single morning. Whether or not it's healthy or destructive. No matter what anyone ever tells you, somewhere out in this mess of a world someone is fighting for you. That's how people survive for so long nowadays, it's because we stay alive for each other. So when push comes to shove, Superman really isn't the real hero here, we are. So in other words, my heroes don't consist of people wearing spandex and flying around in vibrant capes. They don't save anyone from burning houses or collapsing buildings. To be completely honest, none of that stuff matters to me, and absolutley none of it ever will.
My heroes are the people who have the strength and courage to get up in the morning everyday and fight with everything inside them for what the want in their life. No matter how impossible their dreams may seem, if they have the strength to never ever give up on it, than that is a true superhero to me.
Please don't tell me I've changed, because in reality I haven't. I haven't changed since I was a baby. Obviously I'm not the same, but all I've done is grown into the person I'm supposed to be. I grow a little every single day. We all do. At the end of the day, we're all still the same person we were when we first began breathing. We've just gotten a bit more mature over time. That's all. My friends are probably the strangest people you will ever meet on this planet, but that's what I love about them. Life's always better strange, that way you never get bored. My best friend is a weirdo, but a weirdo who changed my life. I'm fascinated by everything in this universe and when I say everything, I mean everything. More than likely anything you say to me, no matter how irrelevant the subject is, it will end up entertaining me for awhile. The reason I need hugs so much, is that it makes me feel important. That for one moment, I am the one in your arms. And no one else can come between. I want to see the whole wide world when I'm a all grown up. Life's to short to stay in one area for to long. We only have one life to live and I do not want to look at corn fields for the rest of my life. My goal isn't to be just another face in a crowd. That's not the kind of life for me. I was born to tell a story, and a darn good one at that. Writing is my form of artwork. When I write something, I don't write it just to write it. There is a logical reason for it. Every single word I type or write on a page is something i'm not ready to say out loud yet. So I suggest when reading my work you really listen to whats being said. All those words on that paper. That's me talking to you. I feel its important to be kind to people. Treat them the same way you wish to be treated. Cause when we bleed, we're all bleeding the same blood. It's not right if i try to take away someone elses happyness or try and take away there hope. Those things may be the only thing they've got. Truth is, I'm just a quiet girl with a heck of a lot to say. Give me a pen and some paper and I promise you I'll keep you fascinated for days.
